Insignis Games: A Day of Fun and Camaraderie
On November 30, 2024, sounds of drums and trumpets filled the air of Alexander Brown Hall as the MBBS/BDS Graduating Class of 2025, aka 2K21, held the Insignis Games.
This sporting competition was organised as part of the final year activities to bring the class together in an atmosphere of fun and unity. It began with a parade featuring three of the four competing teams: Blue, Purple, Red, and Green. The parade progressed from the ABH gate and moved through the hall to the five-aside football pitch. Each team displayed their creativity through presentations.
After a speech from Yeshua Adedeji, the Final Year Socials Subcommittee co-head, and a short reading of the rules by the judges, the games began. The first game was a drinking competition, quickly followed by games such as Egg Race and Dart-throwing competition.
One of the highlights of the event was the intense tug-of-war, which led some teams to be dragged in the sand, literally. The three-legged race, balls and basket game, also generated excitement and cheer among the participants and spectators.
The event ended with a dancing chairs session for the organisers and an announcement of the results. The Red Team emerged victorious, claiming the title of Insignis Games Champions and walked away with a cash prize of Thirty Thousand Naira.
