“Support from NGOs like the Sigma Club will go a long way in ensuring excellent healthcare delivery to Jaja patients” – University Health Services Assistant Director on Sigma Charity Outreach
On December 20, 2024, Sigma Club held the second edition of the Sigma Charity Outreach. centred around making healthcare accessible, at the Jaja Clinic, UI. Donated items included pillows, beds, and a standing fan, among others.
The outreach was graced by the Assistant Director of the University Health Services, Jaja Clinic, representing the Director, Dr. Aderonke Ajav who was absent due to official duties. During her address, the representative expressed gratitude to the Sigma Club for their hand of donation and highlighted the importance of such donations in ensuring access to healthcare. In her words, “Support from non-governmental organisations like the Sigma Club will go a long way in ensuring excellent healthcare delivery to Jaja patients in the face of rising costs”.
Also in attendance were; Boluwatife Aboderin, Ogundipo Japeth, and Onuh Christopher, the Vice-President, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary, respectively, of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union.
Founded in 1950, Sigma Club is the oldest student body in the University of Ibadan. The Sigma Charity Outreach is one of the community programs carried out by the Club.
