The Jaw War Semi-finals of the Inter-faculty and Inter-hall categories which took place on Wednesday,16th September, 2026 at Faculty of The Social Sciences’ Large Lecture Theatre (LLT) saw Alexander Brown Hall (ABH) Ransome Kuti Hall, Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Education win their rounds and as such proceed to the finals.
Prior to the semi-finals, the quarter-finals took place on 12th September,2026 at NFLT. The round involved three clashes each in the hall and faculty categories. In the faculty category, Technology edged Pharmacy 70.0% to 69.6%, Education defeated Arts 85.5% to 65.1%, Law also defeated Agriculture 81.5% to 69.75% and the Best Loser of this category was Agriculture.While in the hall category, Obafemi Awolowo triumphed against Sultan Bello 79.75% to 70.83%, Ransome Kuti defeated Independence 82.0% to 74.6%, Lord Tedder edged Alexander Brown 84.7% to 81% and the Best Loser of this category was Alexander Brown Hall.The overall Best Speaker in the quarter-finals was Michael Oluwagunwa, the first speaker of Lord Tedder Hall with a score of 90%.
The semi-finals involved two clashes each in the hall and faculty categories. Kuti went against Tedder defeating them 76% to 70.6%, ABH defeated Awo 74.5% to 70.75% and Technology defeated Agriculture 78% to 74.4%. The most heated clash of the night between the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Law, as recognised by the judges surprisingly ended in a tie, this saw the judges announce an impromptu tiebreaker round with 5 minutes for preparation and a minute of debate for each side. Education won the impromptu round against Law 84% to 79.3%, securing them a place in the finals.
Faith Uwokhori, the first speaker of the Faculty of Education who had a score of 87% was announced as the Best Speaker of the semi-finals.
