The Joint Action Committee(JAC) of Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have suspended their strike, effective Monday, 11th May, 2026.
This was announced in a circular released on Tuesday, 5th of May after a crucial meeting with the FGN Expanded Renegotiation Committee. Recall that a total and indefinite strike was declared after earlier negotiations with the FGN failed.
“Branch Leaders are hereby urged to note this appeal and convene Congresses to report the above, for a suspension of the strike effective from Monday, 11th May, 2026, while other engagements with relevant stakeholders continue,” the circular reads.
