The University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, won the Prof Olabiyi Inter-MSA Quiz Competition, held at Blue Hall, College of Health Sciences, Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State. The competition, initially slated to commence by 10 am, eventually started at about a quarter past 11 am, due to the late arrival of some of the participating schools.

Four schools participated in the quiz– the hosts Bowen, UIMSA, Lead City MSA, and Osun State University MSA. The quiz featured rounds in each of the three basic medical sciences– physiology, biochemistry and anatomy. The first round contained 13 physiology questions, the second round, 10 biochemistry questions, and the third round had 10 anatomy questions. Each question was worth 5 marks, without any bonuses.

At the end of the first round BAMS led with a perfect 65 points but was closely trailed by UIMSA and OSUMSA on 60, while LMSA had 55 points. The competition came to a close around 2:30 pm and, after pictures were taken, both teams proceeded to the football field for a friendly match.

UIMSA started the match on a high and came close to hitting the back of the net several times in the first half. The pressure eventually paid off as Chimex found Perry for a cool finish just before the stroke of half-time.

The second half had a reinvigorated BAMS team have a serious go at it, and come close a few times but the UIMSA boys held firm, but BAMS eventually hit the back of the net, amidst protests for offside which was waved off by the referee. At full time, the match ended 1-1 as the teams shared the spoils.
