Survival Cup 2026 Set for Flag-off, Holds Press Conference and Draw

The Survival Cup 2026 Organising Committee held a press conference on July 27, 2026, at the Students representative Council (SRC) Chamber ahead of the 7th edition of the competition.

Initially slated for 4 PM, the event started at 4:22 PM due to slight logistical issues. Proceedings opened with a brief address by the Organising Committee Chairman, Mr. Stephen Oluwatofeyetun. Representatives from the participating departments were then called upon to formally confirm their presence ahead of the draws.

The premier university sophomore competition boasts twenty registered teams in its 7th instalment, including both single and merged departments. The announced format organizes the teams into seven groups (A-G). Groups A through F will consist of three teams each playing two group-stage matches, while the two teams in Group G will play a two-legged fixture to ensure fairness. The seven group winners and the overall ‘best loser’ will progress to the quarter-finals.

The teams were seeded into three pots based on team strength and performance in previous competitions. MBBS, in Pot 1, were drawn against WBE/AEE and Quantity Surveying/URP in Group B.
