UCH Expands Electronic Health Records System to Key Clinical Units
The management of the University College Hospital (UCH), led by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, has successfully deployed the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system in five key service units of the hospital: the Universal Laboratory, Medical Health Records Department, Family Medicine Department, Family Medicine Records Unit, and Radiology Department to improve healthcare delivery and modernize patient record management.
This follows a post made on the University College Hospital, Ibadan Facebook Page on the 19th of June, 2026. The newly implemented system replaces paper-based record-keeping with a digital platform that allows healthcare workers to access patients’ medical information more quickly and efficiently. Hospital management said the initiative is aimed at reducing delays in accessing records, improving coordination among healthcare providers, and ensuring seamless access to patient information across the affected departments.
Speaking on the development, the hospital management described the project as a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering quality, technology-driven healthcare services.
