The Seals Cup Committee, University of Ibadan has, on Sunday, 5th April, announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 edition of the widely anticipated Seals Cup. The process is to begin from 9pm Sunday, until the 48 slots – 32 for the men’s and 16 for the women’s tournament – are filled.
The announcement was made via a flier circulated on the Seals ’25 group, signalling the much-anticipated return of the crown jewel of the university’s football calendar.
Interested departments are required to pay a registration fee of ₦32,000 and ₦15,000 for the men’s and women’s tournaments respectively. This is a significant increase from last year’s fees of ₦25,000 and ₦10,000.
The teams are also encouraged to act swiftly, as the limited slots and high demand associated with the Seals Cup registration are expected to see to its early closure.
