The Electoral Committee of the Sanusi Oladele Lecture Theatre, popularly known as CBN, has on the 6th of April, 2026, made known the modalities of its 2025/2026 electoral activities.
The Electoral Committee has initiated the sale of nomination forms to interested candidates, with the deadline for purchase of said forms set for the 19th of April, 2026. Subsequently, the screening of interested candidates will take place on the 22nd of April, and the Manifesto Night will follow on the day after. According to the release, the election itself will be conducted on the 25th of April.
“All CBN posts are open to every CBNite, irrespective of department or faculty, provided the individual is a registered member,” announced the chairperson of the Electoral Committee, Oluwafunmilayo ‘Immaculate’ Iyanuoluwa. According to the release, registered members are designated as first-year students of the University of Ibadan taking lectures in the CBN Lecture Theatre, and payment of school fees is not a requirement for contesting or the collection of forms.
The Lecture Theatre serves as the main lecture room for first-year students in science-related courses at the University of Ibadan. Campaign activities are underway, and candidates vying for the positions of CBN Governor, Deputy Governor, Public Relations Officer and others have already declared their intent.
