The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan has released the results for the Press Night that took place on Wednesday, 28th October, 2026 at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan as announced by the Students’ Union Electoral Commission, University of Ibadan.
Fourteen aspirants of electoral positions were present, the Chief Judges for the Press night were Oluseun Fatope, Oluwasegun Ojo, Emmanuel Utibe and Omofala Samuel. Also in attendance were editors-in-chief of several Local Press Organisations across the University of Ibadan. The results of the Press Night are as follows: Olaniyan Abdulsamad, the only aspirant for the post of Assistant General Secretary had a score of 50.17, for Sports Secretary, the aspirants – Oladipupo Al-Ameen Korede, Balogun Abdullah Adewale and Oyewale Gbolahan Waliu – scored 61.95, 52.57 and 63.43 respectively. The two aspirants for the post of Treasurer – Matthew Blessing and Adeife Israel Ayoade scored 59.75 and 61.88 respectively.
For House Secretary, Agunbiade Maleek Ayomide scored 64.83 while Emmanuel O. Akinbusuyi scored 69.40. Jedidah Temitope, the sole aspirant of the post of Public Relations Officer scored 66.98 and the General Secretary aspirants, Yusuf Ibrahim Adeniyi and Oyekola David Akinloluwa 60.18 and 67.86 respectively. For the post of Vice President, Bankole Margret Abidemi scored 68.04 while the two aspirants for President, Abiola Olaniyi Isaac and Awofeso Ayomide scored 64.16 and 65.44 respectively.
Another feature of the Press Night is the Presidential debate between the aspirants of the post of the Students Union Executive President.
The results of the Presidential Debate showed that Awofeso Ayomide scored 58.88, while Abiola Olaniyi scored 56.13.
