MBBS kicked off their Seals Cup Campaign with a 2:0 win over the Department of Adult Education at the SUB Pitch on Monday, 2nd of October, 2023.
The match kicked off at 4:40PM. The first half ended goalless with both teams recording quite a number of fouls. Two minutes into the second half, MBBS recorded their first goal of the tournament via a lob from midfielder, David, that eventually found its way to the back of the net. Exactly eleven minutes later, a scruffy clearance from the Adult Education backline found its way to MBBS forward, Ola, who wasted no time with a left-footed finish to kill off the game. The game went on for a further thirteen minutes but no goals were scored as it ended two nil to Adult Education.
In the other match of Group B, Philosophy defeated Mechanical Engineering by three goals to nil to go on top in the group.
Salihu Basit, captain of the UIMSA Football Team, had this to say afterwards, “We had a good game, the win was just enough for a good start for everyone. But I know, we can definitely play better with the crop of players we have. Hopefully, we go into the next game with a bigger mindset and achieve better results that we had today. It was a nice game. On to the next! ”
As of the time of this publication, the schedule for the next set of matches had yet to be released.
