Four UIMSAites Win Awards at The University of Ibadan Model United Nations Conference Closing and Awards Ceremony

Four UIMSAITES namely Kobichimha Ozigbo, Michael Omoniyi, Titilayo Oluwasebimotife and Oladele Hawau Oyebola win big at the University of Ibadan Model United Nations Conference 2026 (UIMUN 2026 Conference) closing awards ceremony.
The UIMUN Conference 2026 spanned four days, running from Wednesday, 12 August to Saturday, 15 August 2026, and was held at the Main Conference Hall of the University of Ibadan Hotels.The conference attracted over 100 delegates- representing different countries of the world- from across the University of Ibadan, as well as participants from other Nigerian universities and internationally.
The closing and awards ceremony was held on Saturday, 15 August 2026, marking the fourth and final day of the UIMUN Conference. The ceremony featured the presentation of several awards across the six committees—Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), Economic and Financial Committee (ECOFIN), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), International Court of Justice (ICJ), and World Health Organization (WHO). Awards presented included Best Delegate, Most Outstanding Delegate, Best Position Paper, and Special Recognition for Verbal Commendation. The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Overall Best Delegate award, recognising the conference’s most outstanding delegate and Awards of service to the members of the planning team.
Kobichimha Ozigbo,the delegate of Kenya from the 2K29 (100 level) class won the Best Delegate Award in the WHO Committee and the Overall Best Delegate Award for the UIMUN 2026 Conference.

Michael Omoniyi, the delegate of Canada from the 2K27 (300 level) class won the Best Position Paper Award in the WHO committee and Titilayo Oluwasebimotife, the delegate of Australia also from the 2K27 (300 level) class won the Best Delegate Award in the ECOFIN committee.

Oladele Hawau Oyebola, the delegate of Lao People’s Democratic Republic from the 2K29 (100 level) class received special recognition for Verbal Commendation in the WHO committee.

The awards were presented by the President of the General Assembly – Nimatallahi Raji, the Vice President – Ifeanyichukwu Elechi, the Secretary-General – Maris Bernard ,the Chairs and the Vice Chairs of the various committees.With the presentation of the final awards, the ceremony drew to a close, marking the end of the four-day UIMUN Conference.
