Three students emerged as grand prize winners from Stanbic IBTC’s Invest Beta game show held at the Alumni Building Hall on Thursday, the 20th of July, 2024.
The event, one of several game shows organised by the Bank across campuses around the country, was supposedly aimed at encouraging the habit of investing among Nigerians, especially the youths who are currently undergraduates in various institutions across the country. This was stated by Mr. Niyi Ajayi, a representative of Stanbic IBTC.
The Invest Beta Gameplay began by 11 AM. It featured a quiz session of two rounds, where investment-focused questions related to the field of finance were asked from the participants. At the end of this session, three winners emerged with grand grand prizes of #100,000, #50, 000, and #20, 000 funded Stanbic IBTC mutual investment accounts. They are Kolawole Shammah, Urhobomudia Marcus and Shole Israel, respectively.
There were also other contests, including singing and dancing competitions and spoken word, with winners rewarded with Stanbic IBTC merchandise.
Speaking to participants, Mr. Ajayi Niyi, emphasized the importance of starting an investment in early stages of one’s life. He said “You don’t have to wait to have a lot of money before investing, rather it takes commitment, consciousness and discipline to start small“. He then went on to explain the mutual investment program plan by the bank, and the process of application.
The event concluded with the presentation of prizes from the sponsors to the winners of the quiz session.
