Asido Campus Network UI Holds Handover, Orientation Session for New Executives

The Asido Campus Network, University of Ibadan (ACNUI),  hosted a handover ceremony and orientation session for its new executives on Monday, 17th of June, 2024, in a virtual event between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM via Google Meet. 

The event featured an orientation session by the outgoing Director of Programs, Miss Oladotun Ola-Egbinola, and erstwhile President, Miss Oluwayemisi Tawakalitu, after which the new executives were unveiled. 

While delivering her “Amplifying Impact” talk,  Miss Ola-Egbinola encouraged good relationships among team members, stating that it “enhances communication, which is crucial for effective team leadership”. Highlighting the need for collaboration and early planning towards successful projects and events, she said, “It is important to communicate with your team members and other organisations. You have to plan early” she added.

Speaking on “Building a Supportive Community”, the outgoing president, Miss. Tawakalitu highlighted social support, emphasising that it forms the core of everything Asido does. “We are a mental health advocacy club, and all we do requires social support” she explained. On social support, she stated the need for effective communication involving active listening, the need for inclusion and diversity, the need to provide resources and support, and the need to collaborate with other organisations.

The process of selecting the new executives was explained to have begun a month ago when a committee was set up, and an interview conducted for members who indicated interest in various leadership roles. Thirteen people were eventually appointed. They are:

4. Olaniyi Blessing (Assistant General Secretary) 

5. Posi Isa (Director of Programs) 

6. Mobolaji Afolabi (Deputy Director of Programs)

7. Emmanuel Adaraniwon (Director of Socials and Welfare)

8. Judith Azodo (Deputy Director of Socials and Welfare)

9. Akinwola Oluwasegun (Director of Media and Publicity)

10. Joyce Ekundayo (Deputy Director of Media and Publicity)

11. Mariam Abboud (Director of Finance and Fundraising)

12. Oreoluwa Amodu (Recruitment and Membership)

13. Ogunlana Olaoluwaposi (Director of Interventions)
