UI Blacklists UIMSA, UADS, Sigma Club, PANS and Others Over Registration Failure

The University of Ibadan Student Affairs Division has blacklisted several student associations for failing to renew registration. In a memorandum released today, August 19, 2025, the Deputy Registrar (Students) announced that these associations will not be permitted to operate within the university environment, organize or participate in programmes under the university’s name, or present themselves as recognized student bodies until they regularize their registration.

Affected groups include the University of Ibadan Medical Students Association (UIMSA), Unibadan Association of Dental Students (UADS), Sigma Club, Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), Students’ Christian Movement (SCM), Friends of Damien Foundation, Hamstrings Club, and others.

Blacklisted associations are barred from operating, organizing programmes, or presenting themselves as recognized student bodies until they regularize their status.

Sunday Precious Nnamdi

Nnamdi Sunday is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Ibadan and a campus journalist with a strong focus on news reporting, health and creative writing.
