The University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association (UIMSA) approved a budget of ₦20,089,113.45 for the 2024/2025 tenure during an online emergency meeting held on the 13th of August, 2025 via Google Meet.
Presented by President Folusho Olu-Adegbola, the budget allocations are as follows: Office of the President – ₦5,578,860.00; Vice President – ₦2,359,350.00; General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary – ₦1,255,485.00; Financial Secretary and Treasurer – ₦830,655.00; Public Relations Officer – ₦2,025,963.45; Sports Secretary– ₦4,796,452.50; Special Duties Officer (Clinical) – ₦1,564,920.00; and Special Duties Officer (Pre-Clinical) – ₦1,677,427.50.
In a report from the Senate Committee on Budget Implementation and Appropriation, chaired by Senator Abdullahi Ismail, concerns were raised regarding the clarity of certain aspects of the budget for five different committees. The president clarified that these issues stemmed from the challenges of accurately estimating costs in the cited areas.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the proposed budget for the Executive Council and was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
