U.I Students’ Union Secures Fee Deadline Extension, Studio Fee Reversal, and NELFUND Disbursement Commitment

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union yesterday, June 3rd, 2024 announced securement of a two-week extension for fee payment and course registration with the new deadline being Friday, June 20, 2025, instead of the earlier June 6 date following a released circular.

According to the Union, the extension aims to accommodate the economic realities faced by students, especially those relying on refunds from the previous session. “We are glad to report that the refund process is now actively underway, and many affected students have begun to see progress, and all concerned will be finally sorted before the new deadline” the circular read.

Additionally, the circular stated that the union has successfully negotiated the reversal of the studio fee earlier charged to 300L, 400L, and 500L students in the Faculty of Technology, as well as students in the Department of Science & Technology Education.

In a further boost, the Union disclosed that it had secured commitments from NELFUND and the University management regarding the imminent disbursement of loans to students who applied. “...we have secured the commitment of NELFUND and the University management for imminent commencement of disbursements of fees, and we encourage applicants to begin checking their wallets anytime from tomorrow” the circular stated.

Finally, the Union urged students to complete both payment and course registration during the extended window.
