On Wednesday, September 16, the University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UISU) received approval for a lecture-free day on Thursday, September 17, and a half-day of lectures on Friday, September 18. This is in view of the ongoing Students’ Union Week.
The approval, which came at the request of the Students’ Union and was granted by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, was aimed at easing academic conflicts, allowing students to actively participate in the programmes scheduled for those days, and making the Union Week celebrations a success.
The Students’ Union therefore encourages “all students to take advantage of these days and participate actively, responsibly, and peacefully in the scheduled activities.”
On Thursday, September 17, Ojude UI is scheduled to be held at the Old Stadium, SUB, while on Friday, September 18, there will be the Vice-Chancellor’s Marathon and Inter-House Sports Exhibition as part of the Union Week activities.
