The University of Ibadan Students’ Union continued its Freshers’ Week today, 12th May 2025, with an orientation event themed “The Premier Excellence.”
Held at the iconic Trenchard Hall, the event featured a lineup of distinguished guest speakers including Ayotomiwa Elesho, Prof. John Oluwole A. Akintayo (PhD), Adeyinka Adewole, and Kawthar Salahudeen. The session addressed key concerns of fresh students and aimed to inspire excellence from the outset of their academic journey.
A fresher in attendance, Ezekwe Anthony Chidera from the MB;BS 2k28 class described the experience as “amazing,” adding that “today’s event answered most of my questions, especially on how to cope with the heavy course load and the 5.0 CGPA system.”
The orientation marks Day 2 of the week-long programme and follows the rally against examination malpractice held on Sunday.
The Freshers’ Week continues with several events including One Day UI’SU President, Freebies Arena, Sports Day, Campus Rave, and Variety Night.
