The University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association (UIMSA) has qualified to the next round of the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations, Standing Committee on Medical Education And Research (FAMSA-SCOMER) 2024 Inter-MSA Quiz competition after the preliminaries which took place on Sunday, 24th of November, 2024 via Zoom.
UIMSA did so by scoring 35 points, to emerge joint-first, alongside the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Medical Students’ Association (ATBUMSA), Olabisi Onabanjo University Medical Students’ Association (OOUMSA), and Medical Students’ Association of Moi University (MSAMU) from Kenya.
The Quiz was organised using a four-group format (41 participating MSAs) for the preliminary stage which will hold from the 23rd of November to the 26th November, 2024. UIMSA qualified out of 10 MSAs in Group 2, answering questions in four categories; General Knowledge, Clinical Sciences, Basically Medical Sciences, and Math and Logic. The UIMSA Team consists of Joshua John Inioluwa, Obiekwe Franklin, and Adesina Ayomide.
The next stage is the semi-final which will take place in two parts on the 30th of November and 1st of December, 2024, with the finale set to be on the 7th of December, 2024.
