Survival Cup Quarter Finals Round-Up

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the 200-level students of the Medicine and Surgery department faced the Mechanical Engineering sophomores in the quarter-finals of the Survival Cup.

The early minutes of the match were in favour of the engineering boys after they netted an early goal: the first goal MBBS would concede in this tournament so far. Then, just thirteen minutes before the half-time whistle, Cervical brought the game level after converting a well-served assist from Odegaard.

The first half ended that way, and ten minutes into the second half, Jay got a pass and successfully tapped in the ball to give MBBS a one-goal lead.

Five minutes later, Odegaard delivered another assist, this time to Jay, who put the ball into the net to give his team a two-goal lead. The match ended 3-1, and the MBBS boys advanced to the semi-finals.

The day’s action continued with a high-scoring thriller between Sociology/Psychology and Archaeology & Anthropology/Civil Engineering. In a match that produced six goals, Sociology/Psychology emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. The Social Science side advanced to the semi-finals, where they are set to lock horns with MBBS.

On Sunday, August 23, Public Stats secured their place in the next round with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Agricultural Economics/Crop Protection and Environmental Biology (CPEB). A late strike was enough to separate the two sides and maintain Public Stats’ defensive resilience with a clean sheet.

The quarter-final stage concluded on Monday, August 24, as Mathematics/STE’s clinical performance saw off Petroleum Engineering. A 2-0 win for the mathematicians sealed the final semi-final spot, setting up a highly anticipated clash against Public Stats.
