The Students’ Union Electoral Commission, University of Ibadan (SUEC’26) has released the results of the physical screening it conducted for candidates vying for executive positions ahead of the upcoming UI’SU elections. The screening took place on Saturday, 24th October, 2026 at the Student Affairs Conference Centre.
In the scoresheet released by SUEC and signed by Afolabi Adesoye Theophilus, the Chairperson of the Screening Subcommittee and the Secretary – Adebayo Chidozie Salako, out of 16 candidates expected to present themselves for screening, 14 candidates were present while two candidates – Olayinka Happiness Darasimi vying for the post of Assistant General Secretary and Adedugbe Emmanuel Adeyinka vying for the post of House Secretary – were absent and as such have been disqualified by the Screening Subcommittee.
The qualified candidates and their results are as follows: For the post of Assistant General Secretary, Olaniyan Abdulsamad scored 77.37, the Sports Secretary Candidates- Oyewole Gbolahan Waliu, Balogun Abdullahi Adewale and Oladipupo Al-Ameen Korede scored 70.50, 57.11 and 73.69 respectively. The candidates for Treasurer, Adefi Israel Ayoade and Matthew Ugochukwu Blessing scored 79.95 and 63.13 respectively. The two qualified candidates for House Secretary out of the initial three are Emmanuel O. Akinbusuyi and Agunbiade Maleek Ayomide who scored 76.18 and 70.53 respectively. For Public Relation Officer, Jedidiah Temitope who is unopposed scored 77.43.
The candidates for General Secretary, Oyekola David Akinloluwa and Yusuf Ibraheem Adeniyi scored 78.18 and 83.47 respectively. The only candidate for Vice President, Bankole Margret Abidemi scored 73.12 and the two candidates for President – Awofeso Ayomide and Abiola Olaniyi Isaac scored 78.43 and 82.17 respectively.
