UI’SRC Holds its First Ordinary Meeting, Approves Freshers’ Week Budget and Congress

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) held its first ordinary meeting at the SRC Chamber of the Kunle Adepeju Building on Saturday, 10th May 2025. The meeting commenced at 10:58 a.m. In its recent release dated 12th May 2025, the Council announced three key resolutions and decisions from the meeting.

There was a call for, and an approval of, a congress scheduled to hold on Saturday, 17th May 2025. The congress aims to deliberate on recent concerns of the student populace and provide them with a platform to air their views and determine a way forward.

Also, a budget was presented by the SU Finance Committee for the ongoing Freshers’ Week Programme, amounting to ₦4,600,460.00. The budget was approved to ensure the seamless execution of the programme.

Honourable Sulaimon Afeez Olaposi, a newly co-opted member of the Council, was also sworn in as a member of the 12th Assembly, constitutionally empowered to discharge his representative duties.

The meeting ended and was adjourned by 5:00 p.m.
