Benson Idahosa University Finishes 1st, UI 6th at NUGA ’25

The NUGA Games ‘25 hosted at the University of Jos were concluded on the 15th of November, 2025. At the end, Benson Idahosa finished first with 25 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 3 bronze medals (34 medals in total), University of Jos finished 2nd with 18 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 17 bronze medals (50 in total) and University of Benin finished third with 15 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 10 bronze medals (34 in total).

The University of Ibadan finished 6th with 9 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 14 bronze medals (34 in total). Here is the full medal table:

University of Ibadan’s medals came from chess, scrabble, swimming, athletics, squash, judo and taekwondo. In chess, UI won 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and one bronze medal. In scrabble, the team won 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medal. In swimming, the team won 4 silver medals and one bronze medal. The judokas won two gold medals, 2 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, while the squash team won two bronze medals. 1 gold, one silver and 1 bronze medals were won in athletics. Finally, the taekwondo team won two gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals.
