The Faculty of Law will take on the Faculty of the Social Sciences while the Queen Idia Hall takes on the Lord Tedder Hall at the Final of Jaw War:Rise of Legends, following their wins in the Semi-Final held on Tuesday, 17th December 2024, at the Social Sciences Large Lecture Theatre, UI.
The Faculty of Law defeated the Faculty of Arts by 69 points to 65 points, while the Faculty of the Social Sciences defeated the Faculty of Agriculture by 73.5 points to 52.5 points. The Queen Idia Hall defeated the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hal by 64.75 points to 60.75 points, while the Lord Tedder Hall defeated the Queen Elizabeth II Hall by 75 points to 66.75 points.
Yahaya Dorcas, the first speaker for the Social Sciences, was the Best Speaker in the Faculty Category. Akande Omobobola-James, the first speaker for the Lord Tedder Hall, was the Best Speaker In the Hall Category. These wins mean that speakers from the Faculty of the Social Sciences have now emerged Best Speaker in four of the seven rounds so far.Â
The Social Sciences’ win makes it their second final in a row, as they will be looking to overcome fellow first trophy-seekers, Law. Tedder on the other hand, will be looking to reclaim their title (2021 and 2023), with Idia seeking their first.
Also, with his win, Omobobola James (The Social Sciences and Lord Tedder Hall) becomes the first double-constituency head since Okusanya Goodness (Faculty of Arts and Ransome Kuti Hall) in 2023, to lead both their constituencies to the final.
The final will take place on the 8th of January, 2024, at the International Conference Center, UI.
