UIMSA to the world: Two UIMSAites Receive the 2023 Diana Award
The virtual ceremony for the 2023 Diana Awards held today, Friday the 30th of June, being the day before Late Princess Diana’s birthday. The Princess’s sons, Prince Harry and Prince William both participated in the awards ceremony. The annual award dates back to 1999 and is the only charity legacy in the Princess’s honour. It aims at honouring and celebrating the achievements of young change makers all over the world. Recipients are young people within the age range of 9 – 25 years who have been carrying out their activities for a minimum of twelve months.
This year, the roll of honour contains a total of one hundred and eighty nine young people from thirty one countries. Amongst them, about twenty Nigerians and two UIMSAites, Abdulhammed Babatunde who co-founded ‘MyBelle Digital Maternal and Child Health Organisation’ in 2021 and Covenant Odedele who founded ‘Students on LinkedIn’ due to the knowledge deficit about the platform he discovered among his peers.
