The 2024 Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA) Games and International Health Summit have been re-scheduled to take place from the 5th to the 12th of October, 2024, at the University of Lagos, Akoka, according to an announcement made across social media platforms on Sunday, 15th September, 2024.
This announcement comes in the wake of the earlier postponement on the 4th of August, 2024, made ‘due to security reasons arising from the nationwide protests and the current situations in the country’, about a week before the initial schedule of 11th to 17th August.
Speaking with the Press, the Head of the Local Organising Committee, Adeleke Adedeji, a member of the Association of Medical Students, University of Lagos (AMSUL), assured NiMSAites of the readiness of the Hosts. “For now, the host school has been ready since August and we are even more ready. Of course, what has changed is the International Health Summit that has been added”. Concerning registration, he said, “27th September is the deadline. Registration has started and we have communicated to every sports representative and [MSA] President”.
On the addition of the International Health Summit, he told our correspondent, “More information will be released in no time, I do not want to spill the beans. Just stay tuned. Vendors who intend to buy stands are to check the [NiMSA] social media pages or contact the Head of Commercial for the Games, Elizabeth Aderibigbe (09071331867)”.
Recall that the modalities for registration and participation had earlier been released by the Local Organising Committee.
